Granhamn

There is this small bay north of Kapelskär, that is just special – Granhamn. It was used in days gobe-by by sailors to wait for more (or less) wind, before crossing over to the Aaland isalnds. On the island there was a pub to accomodate the waiting sailors and. While waiting for better conditions, the bored sailors chisseld the name of their boats into the granit rock. Some of these markings can still be seen and date back to the 17th century.

We,on the other hand, made use of the granit to have BBQ!
