Legend has it that there once was a princess who was so impressed by the beauty of these islands that she offered here crown to the sea.
Victoria adds: hence the name Gullkrona, golden crown. Wolfgang read about this legend many years ago and, as is the way with these things, he’s wanted to come here ever since. So we did, and since it was a beautiful day, when all the colours of the archipelago came out, and since we found a lovely spot entirely to ourselves, in the sun and out of the wind, he was not disappointed by the reality. I went swimming for the first time since we left Sweden and it was extremely refreshing!
