Rush

We are not in a rush but the wind just blows us towards Helsinki.

We started off with full sails but soon had to reef down until we finally sailed under reefed genoa alone. Our plan was to get to Hankö harbour and to have our Diesel checked there (white smoke is getting stronger). We arrived at around 5pm and to our horror were told that the harbour was full. (They had some kind of regatta going and had all the spots reserved for the competitors). So, we were forced to leave and had to sail on until we found a little harbour with a very tricky entrance. At 8:30 pm we finally made fast at Predium.

We sailed a total of 12 hours of which we motored approx 1 1/2 hours (searching for alternative spots at Hankö harbour). All in all we covered 68 nm which means an average of 5,7 nm per hour. Not bad at all for old Akka!

Its Hangö regatta and it s famous mostly as a drinking party not that much for
Sailing , anyway a pitty that you had to find another harbour after so many miles

  2. Yes, it looked rather jolly. But we found a nice spot and had a good sleep. Alas, no beer for us as we ran out 🙂
