… was the question the bus driver asked me when he picked me up 2 miles from Ramsmora, my final destination, with all my luggage.
I arrived safely at Akka after a very quick journey across the continent. I was in Stockholm at 9am and took a taxi to Akerberga. From there a 1 hour journey to Lillström on Södra Ljüsterö and then another 2 minutes to the marina. Apart from lots of waiting – super cool. The waiting was the downside though and I only arrived at the marina at 2pm.
Here a view from the flight over parts of the Skärgården – my home for another summer.
Akka made it very well through the winter! Apart from a lot of dirt on the outside, I could not find any damage due to the Scandinavian frost. I am sure that the marina staff did re-tie the odd knot of my Christo-covering artwork.
Inside all is well too. It did smell a bit but no mold, no water ingress or any other damage.
It does feel strange to be back on-board. A lot of things feel very familiar. But I also need to get into the swing of things again. For instance the making-a-coffee procedure at home is “fill the coffee maker with water and coffee and switch it on.
Here it is somewhat more complex at the moment.
- Get the kettle
- Climb down the ladder and get some water from the marina toilets (abou 100 meters away)
- Climb up the ladder
- Put the kettle into the galley
- Go to the bow and switch on the gas
- Back to the galley and fill the coffee maker
- Once finished – back to the bow to switch off the gas
But do I care – hell no 🙂
LOL, “making-a-coffee procedure”: Algorithmic Thinking. Hey, you’re on holiday now!
Have a great time!
Will do – but remember only a part-time holiday.
Once you’re in the water you can scratch the climbing up and down ladders part and it will seem beautifully simple in comparison.
