An my own again

Victoria has left today and Akka and I are on our own again 🙁

It feels strange to have to do everything on my own and I actually needed some serious help getting out of Vasahamnen. I made a mistake and wanted to reverse and to do a “back-lefty” before steering forward again. Big mistake. Akka hates reversing and going to starboard in reverse and we messed it up. A Finnish boat owner had to push her off (how embarrassing) and I then had to do a complete turn. Finally we were out and I think the whole of Vasahamnen breathed a sigh of relief.

I motored then all the way back to Kalvholmen (no wind) and made up for my cock-up by a confident “moor against the rock”. First time success: slowly in, drop anchor, walk forward, walk back, let out another meter of anchor rope, jump on land, ropes around 2 trees, engine off, swimming trunks, dive into the water … that was sooo cool 🙂 Lots of pumping  the air.
