A wonderful sailing day

We had a wonderful day sailing today! We left rather late Gällnö and headed for Kalvholmen, just west of Grinda. The wind was against us but we enjoyed creaming along between 5 and 6 knots all the way – all day. The weather was a bit overcast, but still T-Shirt and shorts (which I have worn now for over 5 weeks I guess – but I did wash them in between).

On our journey we saw another Austrian boat, very unusual species here in the archipelago and frantic waving on both boats ensued. Here the “Vorarlberger” in the baltic.

We will spend the night on St. Skratten, one of our favourite spots and an annual fixture in our Swedish holidays. Here Akka amongst some Swedish holiday makers.

  1. I love the fact everyone is sailing. Does anyone use those big cabin cruisers in the islands?

    • Youd do see some big motorboats (and some very little ones, often packed with families of three or four small children) but the vast majoritiy of overnighters are sailors.

Hey, Wolfgang, that wasn’t St Skrattan, that was Orön!
