What a day #1

P5250161I am totally exhausted (but happy)!

I managed to get about 2 hours sleep at the airport last night.

Today was one of those “Zauberwetter” days and at 8am Stockholm already measured 26 degrees!

I had a about 2 hours to kill, since Sixt, the hire car place, does not open until 10am on Sundays. So I went for a nice walk around the city centre and towards Djursholm (Stockholm’s answer to the Prater). It was so hot, I wished I left my suit-jacket (that’s right, I am travelling with a suit) at the Sheraton (I just asked the receptionist if I could leave my bags, she just assumed that I am a hotel guest)

At 10am I got the hire car and got the bits&bobs that I ordered online from seasea.se at Täby. They were very helpful with the odd tip and suggestion. Tomorrow I need to go there again to get the stuff for the sea valves that I managed to dismount in the afternoon.

At around midday I had a very low-point. I did not have any breakfast or lunch and was so tired from the (almost) sleepless night at the airport. The heat did not help too, 30 degrees was a little bit too much for my liking. By then the boat was a total chaos with all my stuff strewn around, the tools all over the place but not to be found and no progress, apart from having arrived 🙂

In the afternoon I managed to get the 2 sea valves dismounted that I want/need to replace. I also got a plan for the sceptic tank and know (kind of) what to buy at the DIY tomorrow.

I also got the V-berth completely scrubbed and fitted with sheets, pillows and duvet – looking forward to some sleep.

It is now half past nine in the evening, I am exhausted, listening to some music, drinking a well-earned beer and watch the the Swedish light – nice – happy Wolfgang
