Inra Hamnskär is a perfect anchoring spot, even though the view is spoilt by a massive radio/satellite/wireless antenna. Nonetheless a great place to stop. And as usual wonderful photo opportunities open up. (Unfortunately no sun, so we have to come back).
The outer islands are a harsh environment for plants and animals. But life spurts out everywhere. Even in the most stupid places.
Furusund provided us with shelter from the wind, electricity for the notebooks, showers for ourselves and views onto passing ferries and a petrol station. Amazing how a petrol station in the sunshine can look quite nice.
It only takes two rocks and you have hours of fun looking at them. Here we are at Själbotna which sports 2 rocks sticking out in front of a mooring bay. Seagull chicks included.
Själbotna is one of my favourites. It is kitchy how “Swedish” the place is. A very well sheltered bay with an extra nook for mooring. This extra little bay has then 2 rocks sticking out which act as a wonderful focal point to the red-white houses in the distance. But…

Furusund! The summer home of Astrid Lindgren. We are so lucky that we can do this. Work seems easy and getting up at 4am or 5am is a small price to pay for an office view like that – don’t you think?

I am always struck by the beauty of the little red Swedish houses in the sunshine. Yes, they are gorgeous in the rain too. But when the sun comes out the colour scheme is just perfect.
Finding space on Akka is not an easy matter. Everything needs it space otherwise it rolls about when sailing or you roll about searching for things everywhere. One of the things we have a problem storing is our veg & fruit. But no longer! We bought the ideal “vegetable rack”…
