My hero-helmswoman

Victoria is truly amazing! Sure, in many ways, but one outstanding ability is the fact that she can steer Akka for hours and hours on end. My greatest respect to her endurance and abilities! She does get cold though. Today it was a 5-layer day for her. Watch the gloves!

The Seglinge Walk

Seglinge has a walk around the island that is a highlight in the archipelago. It is a 7 km round-trip and is extremely well signposted too! The local tourist board obviously had a competition as to what kind of markers could be used to make sure the tourists don’t get…

Seglinge

A long drive up north! The wind directly from the north. 5-6 Bft. Narrow channels. But good-old.faithful (that’s what we call the diesel engine) punched through the waves, albeit sometimes under 2 knots. Why you ask?. Because we definitely want to do the “Seglinge walk” again.

Björko

Vänö

Another beautiful place. An island that has 15 people living here all year. The population rises in the summer to 300. Super friendly, super nice. They have created a very picturesque walk from the harbour to a small chapel. Lovely!

Hanko

We set sail at 8am and before 9am we had more than 20 tacks in! But it was lovely! Blue skies, warm weather and decent wind. In fact the wind was so decent that our approach to Hanko was a speedy affair. Almost constantly around 6+ knots. Stunning sailing! Our…

Finnish waters

Sailing between Helsinki and Hankö is just wonderful. Loads of things to look at and you certainly don’t get bored sailing. Especially with pretty gusty winds as we had today. Our boat speed constantly varied between 2 and 6+ knots. Loads to do, loads to look at. And it was…
