Akka and the crane

And the end has arrived. Akka has been lifted out of the water, cleaned and prepared for the winter. It all took longer than expected but we managed it just in time to catch the bus for Stockholm.

We were scheduled to be lifted on Monday morning but that was somehow changed and we had to wait until midday. Finally she was lifted and the big moment arrived. How would her underside look after our failed idiot’s test from Härsö (Victoria and I crashed into an island). To my surprise I saw no scratch – nothing at all! Good girl, she can put away a small island, no problem.

Once out of the water Akka’s bottom was cleaned! Yes, the algae that settle on the bottom are very hard to scrape off when hard, so they pressure-wash the bottom and keel while still on the crane. (Note: Blue skies and warm weather 🙂 )
