It is amazing how empty the archipelago is in August. We are in Vaxholm at the moment and whereas the place was heaving in July and no empty space was to be found, it is almost empty now. There are 130 spaces for guests – currently only about 10 are occupied (5 Germans and 1 Austrian).
Yesterday we came from Stora Jolpan (Paradieset) where Victoria and I saw in the past up to 100 boats anchoring or moored along the rocks. Akka was the only boat there!
The Swedes close down for July to make the most of those few precious summer weeks and take their holiday en-bloc. As soon as you flick over the calendar they are all back to work and the archipelago is empty and just for us 🙂
The weather is not so nice as it was in July but still shorts (and jumper). There also seems to be more wind but I am not sure if this is just the weather or a general trend. Anyway, I like it!
