A bumpy ride to Björkskär

The weather forecast has been wrong lately and it seems to be over-estimating the wind a bit. A forecast of 20 kts turned out to be a very quiet night at 2 kts. This led me to the decision, to show Freya my favourite rock, despite a rather windiy forecast for the night.

Off we went in some wavy conditions running before the wind of about 20 kts. It was quite bumpy and we raced up north with a deeply reefed genoa. When we approached Björkskär it became clear that there was no point to even look at the little anchorage at Skinnbroken, so we decided to seek shelter at Hemsundet just round the corner. Which was perfect for a well forecasted windy night 🙂

Once we arrived, we went for a scramble up the rocks and a walk in the softest moss. There are no real paths so that you have to find your way through blackberry bushes, more rocks and almost blooming heather.

It was lovely!
