Cosmetics

There are so many aspects I love about my Akka boat-life and DIY is a big part of it.

The charme of the 70s has worn off Akka in some spots and some cosmetic updates are therefore part of my to-do list. Today I wanted to use up the strips of timber that I bought to make some update to the saloon sides. They really need to be used up as they are 2,5 meters long and are a real pain to store anywhere discretely.

I covered most of the awful ceiling and sides fabric by now, but the sides in the saloon still needed attention. And this is what I did today. It is not fully done yet, as I still need to get some wooden frame of the portholes (now I have the dimensions), but it is already an improvement – I think.

Here before/after impressions.
