Grisslehamn

I have some mixed feelings about my first visit to Grisslehamn. It has a solid tourist infrastructure, as it is the main stop for the Eckerö Line to the Aalands. It means that Swedes can hop on a ferry to the Aalands and stock up on duty-free booze. To kill the time waiting for the ferry, there are lots of cafes, restaurants etc. The trip to Eckerö probably does not take longer than a couple of hours, as Ecekrö lies only about 25-30 nm out from Grisslehamn. It certainly explains why you see a lot of people with foldable trolleys in the morning. In the afternoon, they are loaded with crates of booze.

On the upside it has some actual fishing boats and I have actually seen a fishing boat going out to see! Of course I have bought some produce from a local shop – Yum!
