An evening at the cinema

I made my way to Rödlöga today which is already a part of the outer archipelago. It was quite late when I got to the nature harbour and I could hardly believe my eyes. I expected it to be a small bay with space for a few boats but I reckon there are about 100 boats here. It feels very much like in a marina, except that there is nothing apart from the island itself.

At 8 pm there was another performance of the sun going down, so I went to the cinema. This means that you join most of the boaters and find a nice piece of rock where you settle down with your alcoholic drink of choice. Then you watch the sun going down. No kidding, this is always such a marvelous sight that there is always a crowd watching the spectacle. Here up north it has the advantage of en extra long performance. (No munchies in between though)

Today we had an extra treat though. There was an old traditional wooden boat out on the sea drifting. I believe they went out to have dinner on the boat while watching the sunset, they just drifted on the flat sea. But to top it, somebody on the boat got out a clarinet and started to play some jazzy tunes as the sun was at it’s most beautiful. The audience was in awe and when the sun had finally set the person playing got a big round of applause.
