A journey and a half

Hello! I am back on Akka! She managed the winter alright, I could not see any damage or problems. Yippee!

I wanted to avoid air travel this year and decided to go by train to Stockholm. And this is apparently what it takes to travel from my home to Akka.

  • a bus
  • an inner city train
  • a train (Vienna to Nuremberg)
  • a train (Nuremberg to Hamburg)
  • a hotel (Hamburg)
  • a train (Hamburg to Puttgarden)
  • a bus (shuttle-bus to the ferry)
  • a ferry (Puttgarden to Rodbyhaven)
  • a bus (shuttle-bus)
  • a train (to Copenhagen)
  • a train Copenhagen to Malmö)
  • a train (Malmö to Stockholm)
  • a hire car
  • a hotel (extra night in Stockholm)
  • a ferry (Östana to Södra Ljüsterö)

This seems a long list, and I can ensure it was a long journey. Especially since the Danish railway operator decided to use my travelling weekend to carry out some structural work across the country. This meant that we had to get a shuttle-bus service to a ferry (which was late). Then another shuttle-bus to the train, which meant that I missed the connection to Copenhagen, which meant that I missed the connection to Stockholm, which meant that I missed the last ferry to Södra Jlüstero, which meant that I had to book a night in a hotel in Stockholm.
