What a treasure! We have been in the Stockholm archipelago for over 10 years now, but only discovered the Ålö circular walk this year. And what a treat it is.
First you take the 5 minute ferry-ride from Rånö to Ålö and then you try to find the beginning of the walk for 1/2 an hour. But friendly Swedes will help out and point out that it starts only the 20 meters down the road. From this point onwards, helpful paint-marks will guide you the 8 km round the island safely.
