It is so good to be back!
And what a welcome Sweden had for me. To start with, there was a completely empty airport. The only people present were the arrivals from Vienna and the customs official checking the Corona-tests. And when I say empty, I mean empty. The car-park, normally filled with hundreds, maybe thousands of cars – empty. The bus stops – empty. Check in area – empty. This meant, that I could whizz through the airport in no time at all. I think I was at the car-rental within 25 minutes of touch-down.
The next nice thing that happened was at the car-rental place. A very young (max 18 years old) male employee asked me whether I really was called Wolfgang. Because his future son would have Wolfgang as a middle name. 🙂 It hit home how chatty other people are compared to Austrians and how much I missed it during the last Corona-summer.
And finally a glorious summer seems to be under way. We had 25+ degrees, a light breeze and blue skies. I can’t wait to get into the water and fill up on those long Swedish summer days.
Corona was bad for Akka. Almost 2 years on the hard meant that she is extremely dirty, which is a problem without a hose nearby. Otherwiese all is well and no damage or problem to be seen.
2021 here we come!
