After a couple of days in Helsinki we are off towards the Turku archipelago and the Åland.
Margit and Christian are on board and we are having some great sailing time. It seems that they attract adventures for us and Akka. First there was the thick fog in Tallinn bay and a 400 meter encounter with a cruise ship that we could not see at all. Then, yesterday we moored Akka at a rock and brought out 4 landlines (as the weather forecast was strong winds from the west). As soon as we had finished with the lines, a short thunderstorm came through with winds from the east. So we left in hurry to motor to a different bay. As we entered the bay an uncharted rock stopped our progress briefly . Yesterday the wind got up and we had to beat into it all day. We crossed an open area where the wind was a (guessing here) 6+ and the nasty little Baltic waves kept coming every 1 – 2 seconds. But great weather and great fun!
