We left Mariehamn rather late but Akka made up for the time lost. The wind, a steady 4-5 from the north, made us racing through the islands and we arrived in no time on Degerö/Degerby/Föglö. I am a bit confused as to the right name. The island is called Degerö, the area where we are Degerby and the hamlet Föglö, but then the island next door is called Föglö. But it does not matter – it’s beautiful.
As soon as we arrived we went for a walk to the Enigheten, a collection of old houses from the 16th century that were recently restored. A nature trail led us through a wonderful forest.
