Lots of sunshine today so we sailed a couple of miles to beautiful Grinda and anchored on a rock in a pretty little bay. Grinda is one of the islands that gets grazed to keep the grassland open so there are some sheep and cows and also a small number of strange multicoloured chickens with fluffy, fluffy babies. I also saw a a mummy grebe with 7 stripey little baby grebes that were even cuter than the chicks. We climbed up the Klubkobben, highest point of the island, 45m of rocks, for a nice view out across this bit of the archipelago, an undertaking so exhausting we immediately had to go back to the boat for a snooze afterwards. Now we’re soaking up the sun in our swimming costumes – well, actually our underwear, but there’s no one around to notice the difference- trying to work up the courage to take a dip. The water is 13 degrees C, which my fingers say is fine but which makes my toes shriek “No way, Jose!” Perhaps I should push Wolfgang in first? then if he survives I might try it too.
