Between a rock and a hard place

I moored against the rock at Ladna and Peter from Abigail came for a brief visit. All the time we talked I had to adjust the anchor line as the wind was blowing me straight against the rock. One disadvantage of sailing single-handedly in the archipelago is mooring against the rock. I am getting better at this, but everything moves very fast and again I had a bit of a short anchor line and the anchor was dragging. It turned out later that I also caught a piece of wood in the anchor.

Anyway, while we were chatting I mentioned to him that I am thinking of moving the boat as I believe the anchor is not holding well. While I said this the boat ever so gently touched the rock. He smiled and said “well you have to do something”. Peter then helped me with the landlines and I am anchoring now in the middle of the bay – very nice and secure.

He spent the Friday/Saturday at Vaxholm while the storm was blowing. He measured up to 9 Bft!
