Estonia has a huge amount of manor-houses! Some have been restored to their former glory and are open to the public. Here a map of Estonia with every red dot representing a manor.
By the way, the translation in Palmse Manor talks of landord-of-the-manor, which sounds so much nicer than lord-of-manor.
We visited 3 yesterday: Palmse Mois, Sagadi Mois and Vanamoisa.
Palmse Mois
Lovely house with an excellent little museum bringing you the family of the former owner really close. Must see.
Sagadi Mois
Not bad too, sadly there are only the grounds open to the public and you cannot go inside. Nonetheless a very nice place. And do check out the restaurant!!!
Vanamois
Not done up yet and has it’s own flair. It is not in total ruins but only the shell remains. The roof has been repaired and it is awaiting restoration.
