A weather front is coming

Our plan to reach Ramsmora by Monday is not working out. A weather front is coming from the north and we will be in Seglinge for 3 days.

As we arrived in the harbour, we made fast alongside a big jetty, thinking that it was a good spot. We even talked to the harbour master about it. But things turned ugly, when the swell started to come through the underside of the jetty and Akka was bouncing around like mad. About 1/2 hour after the show started, it was clear that we had to move. The plan was to let Akka swing 90 degrees to the adjacent jetty.

As we started to get ready, a very nice local man showed up and helped us. It took us about an hour, but we are now in a much better spot. Our helper knew that our original spot was bad in a north wind. He even told us to move Akka 20 meters further down the jetty. And he was right, we had a very quiet first night. Strange, that the harbour master did not suggest it earlier.

Here our first spot. See the number of lines in preparation for the wind.

The oncoming black cloud that started the north wind.

The front will stay with us all day and tomorrow. We are expecting some “intersting gusts” of 52 kts.
