I am still in Riga and I am loving it.
After having walked the length and breadth of the old town by now, we took a bus to the ethnographic open air museum. Various buildings from different parts of Latvia have been transferred to this lovely spot. The houses, farmsteads and churches are beautifully kept and lovingly restored. It was a pleasure to stroll through this huge outdoor museum. OK, there was some rain in between, but it was still a great excursion.
In the evening, Christian and I went to an organ concert in the Riga cathedral. The “Wacker organ” is a real beauty. It was a pleasure to listen and watch (video) the organist and her assistant play that massive thing. Yes, it takes 2 people to handle the manuals, pedals and stops.
