Crossing over to Helsinki

Shortly after our big fucker passed us in the fog, the visibility improved rapidly and we were back in glorious sunshine. We fucked up royally setting the spinnaker but managed to retrieve it after 15 minutes. Good thing actually, as the wind picked up in those 15 minutes and we would have had a handful handling the spi.

After the excitement of big-fucker almost running over us and spi blowing on the halyard only, the crew went to bed. Akka did well and we made constantly 6.5+ knots. When the crew emerged from their various sleeping places, we had entered Finnish waters. Still a long way to go and glad to have some help as the wind picked up and we reefed down until we only had the small Genoa up and were still making 5+ knots.

Great sailing with stories to tell the grand-children. What more can you ask.
