After leaving Akka safely wrapped up in Ramsmora, we travelled by non-water transport to beautiful Sigtuna (“Where Sweden begins!”) to visit some former Bisambergski. Maria and Peter and their lovely children Philip and Ella treated us to a wonderful evening followed by a night in a hugely comfortable bed, and the next morning, while poor Maria and the children went off to work and school, we fitted in a quick sail in their new boat.
I didn’t have my coat on for long. It turned into a beautiful sunny day with a lovely breeze and we did our first sail on the Mälaren, an absolutely enormous lake on the other side of Stockholm from the archipelago. Now sailing there for a week or two has shifted near the top of our bucket list.
