And then it was time to go towards the Russian border. From Tallinn it is only about 200 km to the Russian border and the tourist guide promised an exceptional experience and a castle built by the Danes in the 13th century. Off we went.
As you approach Narva and you drive through the entry to the town you get a good impression of ex-Soviet architecture and an exceptional experience. It is awful and one concrete block after the other interspersed with shopping centres. The funniest part was when the sat-nav announced that we had reached our destination in a particularly nasty spot.
Nonetheless we drove on and came to the border to Russia. It was exciting for us to be so close to the huge Russia was very cool indeed.
