We did not come very far yesterday! We set out from Norrtälje in the morning with the aim to reach Idö or Lidö or some other bay at the beginning of the Norrtäljeviken. The wind was very light and we just drifted east, but hey sometimes it’s fast going and sometimes it takes loooong time to get there. The sun was out and we did not have to go more than 10 miles or so, so all was well on board.
Very soon we heard some rumbling in the distance though. Some sinister clouds signaled the approach of a thunderstorm. Since the wind had completely died down by then, we decided to anchor in a shallow spot of the Viken and to wait for the storm to pass.
The 2 photos show the before and during of Tistelö.
Well, and here we still are the next morning. The thunderstorm passed with lots of rain and some lightning and thunder and the wind shifted to the east but stayed very light. So we decided to stay for the night which meant that our total mileage for the day was 3.8 nm.
Sometimes I love being becalmed!
