Oh what a beautiful day

P7111018_aFinally some nice weather! It was still a bit nippy as the wind is still coming from the north, but some blue sky and sun at last. We made the most of it by sailing from Gävle (Huseliiharen) back to Öregrund. Quite s stretch, as the skipper found out late in the afternoon. In total it was 35 nm but it was a “maritime dream”.

P7111009_aWe also had some “real” Baltic waves! It is always very hard to estimate wave-heights but I reckon they ranged from 1 -2 meters. As we were on a fast broad reach we had a day of rolling in glorious sunshine – still cold though as can be seen by Victoria’s attire.

In the morning the speed hardly dropped under 6 knots and we zipped along quite nicely. The wind however dropped down just in time to give us enough time to watch the nuclear power station Forsmark at length (several hours in fact). Which meant that we could study its details for hours.

P7111031_aAt 6pm we reached Öregrund and a hungry crew and skipper  immediately set off to the supermarket and prepared dinner (steak and roast potato, mixed salad followed by fruit-salad.

All in all another beautiful day! More please!
