Akka hit the water today! After 9 months on the hard, Akka was lifted into the water this afternoon without much ado. The guys from Ramsmora were really helpful and the whole thing was done in less than 1/2 hour. All went well and no disasters struck. No water was gushing in, the mast did not fall over, the engine started only after 1 little cough.
So, here we are in the 13 degree cold Baltic sea. Way too cold for even thinking about a single little piggy getting near that stuff for a while yet. But after a day like today, I am hopeful that we will hit water temperatures in the low 20s again this year. Watch this space.
Off shopping tomorrow. I will be sailing to Akersberga tomorrow morning to do some serious shopping at the local ICA supermarket. It is very close to Akersberga canal where I can wheel my trolley right up to the boat. This always makes me feel a bit like my mother but hey, who cares – I don’t have to “schlepp” all that stuff.
Look at the spiffy azure keel on that boat, will ya!
