A mile a day

No wind! We had a late breakfast and waited some more but the wind hid from us yesterday. We got ready at about 11am and were out of Napoleonviken only to have the absence of wind confirmed. So we decided to motor to Härsö which is only 1 mile further south. On the way Margit saw something floating in the water. With my supreme knowledge about the Scandinavia seas I explained that it was a piece of wood, whereupon the piece of wood did an elegant dive – it was a seal! Amazing to sea a seal so far inside the archipelago.

After we moored at the jetty we were politely told to piss off – really nicely done – and we moved a 100 meters further east where we are now safely  moored against a rock. The usual program of looking, walking, chatting, laughing, nibbling, reading, sleeping etc. was enhanced by Christian going aloft to fix the radar reflector to the backstay and to replace the lazy jack lines. Sunshine changed with clouds a few times but the T-shirt stayed in the cupboard, as is only proper for a Scandinavian summer.

We also managed to make a dent into the gin locker and are on our way to make space for the wine box.

The view from Härsö. Btw. this is the little island Victoria and I crashed into a few weeks ago. The full story of our stupidity can be summarized with “Assumption is the mother of all fuck-ups”
