After a very quiet night in our deep, deep water, tied to this tortured tree here:
we left the bay and found a good stiff breeze blowing, so we set off for a sail. Akka heeled a bit because of the wind and put the fear of God into mum, who couldn’t convince herself that we weren’t going to end up in the water in spite of the captain’s reassurances. I felt exactly the same myself the first time the Folkeboot heeled over, but now I’ve got used to it and could laugh at the landlubber. We didn’t sink and we did some very cool tacking up through a narrow channel to Ingmarsö, where we met some of our Dutch friends motoring down the other way, who yelled their approval. Now we’re back at Ramsmora marina, which compensate for the rain that’s started falling with hot showers and protection from the wind.
It’s not nice to terrify Oma!
No it is not, but fun 🙂
We’ve been very good about not sailing in wind ever since 😉 Aided, of course, by the fact that there hasn’t been much wind to sail in (Victoria)
